Central Lab Testing

MSC develops robust test methods for unique cannabis strains, additional compounds of interest (cannabinoids, terpenes, toxins, etc.), and other product types (resins, topicals, edibles, beverages, etc.) upon request.

1.     Pesticides (in dry cannabis flower and oil extracts)

 

Detection and quantitation of regulated pesticides by LC-MS/MS and GC-MS/MS with LOQs meeting or exceeding Health Canada Requirements

Tests available for all 97 regulated pesticides or for only pesticides with established limits (LOQ).

2.     Potency (in dry cannabis flower and oil extracts)  Quantitation by HPLC-UV of 11 major cannabinoids: Δ9-THC, Δ8-THC, Δ9-THCA, THCV, CBDV, CBDA, CBGA, CBG, CBD, CBN, CBC.
3.     Heavy Metals (in dry cannabis flower and oil extracts) Quantitation of all regulated heavy metals by ICP-MS according to USP <233> (LOQs for inhalation drugs).
4.     Loss on drying (in dry cannabis flower) Loss on drying (LoD) using pharmaceutical grade vacuum ovens according to USP <731>.
5.     Residual solvents (in cannabis oils)

 

Detection and quantitation of the 28 most common residual solvents by LoD using pharmaceutical grade vacuum ovens (USP <731> method) & confirmation by GC-MS/FID with headspace autosampler for LoD results > 5000 ppm (USP <467>).
6.     Aflatoxins (in dry cannabis flower and oil extracts) Detection of aflatoxin by LC-MS/MS according to limits in EP for B1, B2, G1 and G2 for herbal drugs (2.8.18).
7.     Terpenes (in dry cannabis flower and oil extracts) Quantitation of 30 terpenes by GC-MS/FID.
